Woody's wheels sells rotor adapters making all 950/990 fronts fit directly on all 1050/1090/1190/1290 adventure models. In fact if you call woodys and order a front wheel, it's the same wheel for either bike model, just the new gen bike owners are supplied a wheel fitted with the adapters. Couldn't be easier. #10. That caught my eye as I had done a high fender mount for my 990 and it worked out well. I received my mount (it is actually produced by Flatland Racing so you could get it there also).

If I had bought a KTM 1290SA I would have compared it against the XP but since I bought the 1190 then that is were the comparison comes from. Anyway although I do not disagree with you my wallet does, the 1290SA as a second-hand bike would have come in around ÂŁ3,000 more than the 1190. To deep for my pockets. #4.

If you see my sig then you see I mostly buy newer models due to the technology and refinements. Heck, I bought 3 Tuonos to just get more features with the same 1100 motor. Ultimately it is the motor that matters and it is the reason why I got my 43k mile 990 adv beater after previously shopping for 1190/1290 and ended up saving 5-6k.
It adds up on 2hr+ rides. 3) Weight + distribution. The 890 feels much different than the 1290 on and off road. On road it turns in quicker and has better front end feel in the transitions and turns, but when you are in a straight line it takes a little more input than the 1290.
For a moment, I though “Huh, 2 stroke”. Just for a moment… During my visit with my local KTM dealer, today (a couple hours ago), he stated “mid-may” for availability of the 790 Adventure (Arizona). I sat on the 790 Duke that was on the floor. That cycle is *tiny* compared to the 1090, 1190, and 1290 that were right next to it.
The 17-20 1290's were prone to setting fire to your legs if your going slow in high heat (25c plus) they were better than the 1190's to some degree (I owned both at same time) I fitted the insulated rear headers to both my 1190 and 1290 and they help a bit.
